Camp Blue Butterfly is a transformative weekend camp for kids and teens ages 8-17 who have experienced the death of a significant person. This free camp combines fun activities, grief education, counseling, and emotional support. Led by Master's-level grief professionals and trained volunteers, Camp Blue Butterfly provides a unique opportunity for youth to heal, find hope, and connect with others like them.

Expect a busy, hot weekend filled with memories that will impact a child’s life. Below is a brief description of the roles you could have at camp. Please mark your interest in one or more of the roles.
Cabin Leaders/Group Facilitators: Provide essential emotional support and guidance to their assigned cabin group. As a Cabin Leader, you will facilitate grief group time, accompany campers to meals and activities, and report on each camper's progress to the Clinical Director. You will also lead your team of volunteers and sleep in the cabin with your campers. *To qualify for this role, you must have a masters degree in a mental health or related field and be committed to attending the entire camp. Must be available Nov.13th at 2 PM until Nov. 15th at 3 PM.*Cabin Big Buddies: Provide essential support and supervision for their assigned cabin group approximately 8-12 campers This includes eating meals with campers, participating in grief and recreational activities, and providing guidance and appropriate discipline as needed. Cabin Big Buddies must be present for the entire camp and sleep in the cabin with their campers. *Must be available Nov. 13th at 2 PM until Nov 15th at 3 PM.*Support: Day Time Volunteers are not assigned to a cabin but play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth running of the camp. Responsibilities will vary, but may include assisting with registration and parking, supporting recreational and grief-related activities, and overseeing setup and teardown. *Must be available Nov.13 at 2 PM until Nov. 15 at 3 PM. This is not an overnight position, but you must support all three days of camp.*Clinical: Day Time Volunteers provide essential emotional support and guidance to all camp kids in a therapeutic art activity or team building setting as groups rotate in and out of your assigned session throughout the day. *To qualify for this role, you must have a masters degree in a mental health or related field. Shifts available Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.*
